Oberata Street Cred up 32% via Tee-Ball Sponsorship
Kingwood, TX – Local yokels reported Wednesday that Oberata Consulting had increased its street cred by 32% after announcing its sponsorship of the local Blue Jays tee-ball franchise.
While many of the 5 year olds on the team could scarcely pronounce the name of the esteemed local coaching firm, Oberata Consulting founder Jeff Timpanaro says he’s just tickled pink.
“Our phones are ringing nonstop,” reports Timpanaro. ”I can’t seem to keep the Administaffs and the Price Waterhouses from offering to buy us out . . .but I’m not budging just yet.”
This spike in local mojo is being called the largest single day lift since Gatorade introduced itself to Michael Jordan.
NO FOOLIN’
Seriously folks, this was a banner day! After a typical day of work, we arrived early to the Blue Jays’ first official game. My son, Guthrie, who is perhaps the lead clown in this unorganized circus they call tee-ball (e.g. he can do a full headstand in between batters), pulled on his #4 jersey and had a gleam in his eye. ”Cool!” he said. I sighed with relief since he was hell bent on getting his favorite, #5.
As the uniforms were passed out and placed upon the tiny tee-ballers, I was just amazed at how great it felt to have sponsored a magical journey into sports for these kids. As you might expect, it was a typical tee-ball game, complete with tackling, crying, and wrong way base-running . . . . and Oberata Consulting was sponsoring every second!
I’m not sure what the business impact will be, but that’s really not the point. An investment in enjoyment is key to success.
